The train station is also the starting point for all the guided tours, whether they are on site or at the industrial workshop, you will board an old car to get there. Take place on board the other historic shuttle and discover the depot and its roundhouse : the station is the entry point of the event.
The Industrial Workshops of Varennes-Vauzelles
Used to opening its doors every year on the occasion of May 1st, this year it is on the occasion of the Heritage Days that the “Technicentre Industriel Nevers-Languedoc” (TINL) makes you discover its secrets. A guided tour by registration only allows you to discover this temple of railway know-how unique in France, its various workshops and all the railway trades which – in the shade – operate the trains. All the parts constituting the trains, and allowing their operation, the safety and the comfort of travelers, are created and assembled in this establishment which employs nearly 1,000 people in the greater Nevers area.
The depot and its roundhouse
Place of maintenance and storage of daily trains, the Technicentre Bourgogne-Franche Comté opens its doors for the first time in many years. A self-guided tour will allow you to discover the backstage of this imposing place that stores and maintains the trains of daily life.
